Currency Exchange

For Arrival Passengers

Arrival passengers can have their currency exchange after completing immigration at the airport. There is a number of bank booth including private owned enterprise near the conveyor belt area. Arrival passenger can exchange foreign currency from any of the booths of different banks and money exchange as listed below.

Other than these booths, there are also a few other bank booths such as Agrani Bank Ltd., Pubali Bank Limited, City Bank Limited, and Brac Bank Limited. Passengers can currency exchange from these booths which are installed in the area after crossing arrival Immigration. Presentation of Passport during such transaction of foreign currency is mandatory for all passengers.

Departure Passengers can buy limited amount of foreign currency subject to the rules set by Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of Bangladesh. Moreover, at the time of buying foreign currency, presentation of passport is mandatory. Foreign nationals who wish to buy foreign currency must have to show the documents of encashment of foreign currency during their entrance into Bangladesh. Departure passengers have limited options to exchange currency at the 1st floor of the airport building. Currently two bank booths are operating as the exchange authority for converting Bangladeshi Taka into foreign currencies. Passengers may endorse foreign currencies in these booths.
