Biman Bangladesh Airlines cancelled all its Rajshahi to Dhaka flights on 3 May 2019 due to cyclonic storm ‘Fani’. Two flights of Biman were scheduled to fly from Rajshahi to Dhaka on Friday (3 May).
The pilot of the Dhaka to Rajshahi flight could not find favourable weather to fly the Dhaka to Rajshahi flight scheduled at 3.30 pm. Later, he cancelled the flight at 5.15 pm considering the inclement weather due to the influence of devastating storm Fani.
A dependable source at Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi confirmed the information. There were 40 passengers for the Dhaka to Rajshahi flight and 37 passengers for the Rajshahi to Dhaka flight. The passengers will get a full refund, the source said.
Biman Bangladesh cancelled the flights considering the safety of its passengers. The airport authority is kept alert due to the storm.
Shah Makhdum Airport Manager Setafur Rahman informed us that more flights might be cancelled on Saturday if inclement weather conditions prevail.
Earlier, Biman cancelled its Dhaka to Jashore flight for the same reason.
