Two Pakistani citizens have been arrested by Airport Armed Police today with 10.2 Kg heroin within their body. The two Pakistani, named as Md. Harun (55) and Allah Boksh (45) arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today at around 12.10 pm by a Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-266. Upon special secret information, intelligence members of Airport Armed Police kept the two under strong surveillance.
At one stage, both of the two Pakistani citizens crossed Customs Green Channel area and proceeded towards Terminal 2 of the Airport. As their movement were suspicious, Airport APBN members challenged them while they wanted to bribe them. Denying such attempt, AAPBN members took them to the Office of the AAPBN where they were searched thoroughly in presence of Senior ASP Jahed Parvez Chowdhury of Airport APBN. Upon searching, 6 brown packets wrapped in transparent white tape were found attached cleverly to their bodies, sources said. Those 6 packets weighed around 10.2 Kg. As Airport Police suspected those powders to be heroin, a small sample were then sent to the Narcotics Control Directorate in Mohakhali where experts certified the powder to be genuine heroin.
While interrogated, arrested Harun and Allah Boksh admitted that those narcotics were brought for one Dr. Samsad of Chittagong, the port city of Bangladesh. Both of them travelled Bangladesh several times as found in their passport and allegedly engaged in such smuggling cases.
Later, a legal suit has been lodged in the local Airport Police Station in this regard against the two Pakistani citizens.
