After a long break of more than two and half months, commercial international flights operation will be started today on limited routes. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) recently issued permission for flight operations to the United Kingdom and Qatar as a starter.
Qatar Airways will start Dhaka to Doha flights today, but Biman’s London flight will commence on 21 June.
Biman Bangladesh airlines will operate one flight every week to London after it starts on 21 June.
Qatar Airways will operate three flights a week as Civil Aviation Authority allows. But Qatar airways can only carry transit passengers on its flights for now.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh stopped all international flights except those on the China-Bangladesh route on 21 March 2020. This cancellation of flights has been increased several times since 15th June. In the meantime, domestic flights have already started with limited routes and a controlled number of passengers.
