Now, the Air Canada, the flag carrier and the largest airline of Canada will start operations from Dhaka to Toronto via New Delhi very soon. This was learnt from an Air Service Agreement recently signed between Bangladesh and Canada.
This decision came into light after a meeting between Benoit Préfontaine, the newly appointed Canadian High Commissioner in Bangladesh and Rashed Khan Menon, the Minister for the Civil Aviation and Tourism ministry at the Secretariat on 29th October, 2017.
The meeting was followed by a press release in which it was stated that now passengers can travel at ease to New York from Toronto as the airline operates frequent flights to New York from Canada.
Civil Aviation and Tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon expressed his hope that the new operations of flights of Air Canada between would further expand trade and commerce relation between two friendly nations.
In response, the High Commissioner informed the minister that Canada has already appointed a special envoy to create pressure on Myanmar to take back Rohingyas from Bangladesh.
