In the last few years, we have received a lot of inquiries about TV tax at Shahjalal International Airport. We have this post on rates of customs duty in general for various items at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Considering the demand, we decided to publish a separate post on Customs Duty rates on LCD or LED TVs.
Firstly, One LCD, Plasma, TFT or LED TV having a display size of not more than 29 inches or One Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Black & White/Color TV of sizes up to 29 inches is Duty-Free, that is you will not have to pay any taxes for that.
Any LCD or LED monitors of sizes up to 29 inches (whether it has TV function or not) are duty-free.
Note: Commercial quantity is always subject to customs duty.
And for other sizes, the rates of customs duty are as follows: (as per corrected Baggage Rules)

| 7 | 66" and above | 90,000 Taka |
Please be noted that these rates are fixed by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), a Government Organization and Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has nothing to do with it. NBR reviews these rates each year and corrects them according to the market and demands. These rates are usually changed in the middle of each year. Trends are that these rates have been reduced over the last few years.
We regularly update the rates as fast as the rules are changed.
