Novo Air Starts Journey | January 10, 2013
Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Faruk Khan, MP, Minister for the ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism, inaugurated the formal operations of the latest domestic airlines of Bangladesh at a program yesterday at the Domestic Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Initially, the new airline started scheduled domestic airline operations to and from major cities of Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Chittagong, and Jessore, with its two EMB 145 Jets imported from Brazil. Flight operations to and from Sylhet and Cox Bazar will start soon. Both of the aircraft can carry 49 passengers each up to a distance of 2500 km. These aircraft are equipped with the most reliable engines of Rolls Royce, which can provide the fastest means of travel between destinations.
In the inauguration ceremony, the minister hoped that Novo Air would operate with passenger satisfaction in mind and keep up strongly with the standards of passenger service.
According to the Novo Air authorities, US-based aircraft interior design company C&D Interiors designed the cabin and baggage compartments of the aircraft. Novo Air aircraft are capable of landing in inclement weather without compromising safety.
Novo Air is also the service provider for China Southern, Tiger Airways, and two foreign airlines in Bangladesh as General Sales & Service Agent (GSA). Novo Air provides comprehensive sales, airport operations and customer care services to its foreign partners, such as passenger and cargo handling, check-in, ramp, and baggage services.
Though Novo Air flights are limited to Chittagong, Jessore, it has plans to increase.
Its destination is Barisal, Saidpur and Rajshahi, very soon beside Sylhet and Cox Bazar. Four Dhaka-Chittagong, one Dhaka-Cox Bazar and one Dhaka-Jessore Novo Air flight are scheduled to be operated on a daily basis.
