United Airways, the country’s leading largest private airline in Bangladesh, announced the cheapest fare to fly from Dhaka to Bangkok effective from 25th of August 2013. According to a news release from the United Airways website, Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka’s special return fare is Tk. 17989 (inclusive of all taxes and surcharges). The airways will operate three flights every week from Dhaka to Bangkok on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, with departing time from Dhaka at 1040 hrs and departing from Bangkok at 1630 hrs.
Being the first ever public limited company in the aviation sector of Bangladesh, United Airways is now operating flights in 7 International routes, including from Dhaka to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Kathmandu and Kolkata and also from Chittagong to Muscat and Kolkata.
The airline operates domestic flights from Dhaka to Chittagong, Sylhet, Jessore, Cox’s Bazar, Saidpur, Rajshahi and Barisal. United Airways is hopeful of spreading its wings in Dhaka-Singapore and Dhaka-Doha routes from September 2013. It has also planned to operate flights on Karachi and Yangon routes. Another domestic route Dhaka-Ishwardi flight, will be started very soon.
Recently United Airways received the Best Domestic Airline of the Year- 2012 Award by The Bangladesh Monitor. Now United Airways (BD) Ltd. has a total of 9 aircraft, which are one Dash-8-100, two ATR-72, four MD-83 and two Airbus-310 planes. Hopefully, one MD-83, one ATR-72 and two Jetstream will enrich the fleet very soon, according to the news release.
