Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the induction of a brand new Boeing 777 added to Biman Bangladesh Airlines today. In a grand opening ceremony held at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the newly acquired Boeing 777, which is of 3rd generation of Boeing aircraft, has been introduced to the Biman fleet.
The aircraft named as “Aakash Pradeep” is the 3rd new aircraft recently added by Biman authority after Palki and Arun Alo. This modern aircraft can accommodate 365 passengers including 22 First Class, 77 business class and 273 economic class passengers. It can also carry a handsome number of crews for smooth operation.
In less than two years, Biman added these three aircrafts to its fleet.
Boeing 777 is considered to be one of the most fuel efficient aircraft that consumes only 2.9 litres for the pass of approximately 100 km.
Aakash Pradeep is assumed to replace last age old DC 10 which will fly into the skies for the last time on February 20 this month.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is currently consolidating its operation and is also poised for growth. Including their fleet expansion, Biman is also planning to expand its routes. The authority has future plans to expand its destinations to New York, Birmingham, Toronto, Frankfurt, Guangzhou, Guwahati, Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh City.
Starting the fly in the skies about 42 years ago, Biman Bangladesh Airlines won the heart of millions of native passengers in addition to the foreign passenger.
With this addition of new plane, aviation enthusiast expect that Biman will now be able to cope with the increasing demand from its passenger and run their business smoothly.
